Robin retired from the Macomb Police Department in 2014 after 26 years on the job. Robin was a Range Officer for 12 years and taught firearms training and arrest and control tactics at Illinois Police Corps. Kimler is a Master Firearms Instructor, Patrol Rifle Instructor, Glock Armorer, Advanced Glock Armorer and an Illinois Concealed Carry Instructor. On top of that Kimler has a 3rd degree Black Belt in Jujitsu, 8th Level in Traditional Wing Chun Kung Fu and is also studying Kali and Escrima. 

Mr. Leezer holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Western Illinois University. He is a
retired Master Sergeant with the Illinois State Police that supervised day shift patrol. He has
over thirty years of experience in law enforcement. He has been an adjunct instructor in the
Department of Law Enforcement and Justice Administration at Western Illinois University for
over ten years.
He served with the Illinois State Police SWAT team from 2003-2006. He is certified to instruct
Rapid Deployment Tactics by the Illinois State Police and Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid
Response Training (ALERRT). He is certified to instruct Exterior Response to an Active
Shooter through ALERRT. He is a Range (Pistol, Shotgun and Rifle) instructor with the Illinois
State Police and has extensive experience instructing at the Illinois State Police Academy. He is
a former Control and Arrest Tactics instructor with the Illinois State Police. He is the co-author
of Advanced Rapid Deployment to an Active Shooter. It is a four-day course instructing police
officers and dispatchers the tactics to respond and resolve an active shooter incident. He is the
co-creator of Active Shooter Education & Tactics which instructs schools, educational facilities,
churches and businesses on pre-planning and response in an active shooter incident. He has
experience in site security assessments, protection details, tactical planning and response to
critical incidents.

Mr. Leezer has experience in facilitating multi-agency active shooter training as well as
instructing civilians in active shooter preparation and response.

Mr. Merry holds a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. He has
twenty eight years of experience in the law enforcement field. He is retired from
the Illinois State Police after serving as the District 14 Range Master and Vehicle
Investigation Officer.
While with the Illinois State Police he served as a Range Master (Pistol, Shotgun,
and Rifle) instructor, Senior Control and Arrest Tactics instructor, Terrorism and
Intelligence officer, and Rapid Deployment Instructor. He is certified Rapid
Deployment instructor through Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response
Training (ALERRT), Northern Illinois Police Officer Association (NIPAS), and
the Illinois State Police. He is the co-author of Advanced Rapid Deployment to an
Active Shooter. It is a four day course instructing police officers and dispatchers
the tactics to respond and resolve an active shooter incident. He is the co-creator
of Active Shooter Education & Tactics which instructs schools, educational
facilities, churches and businesses on pre-planning and response in an active

and tactical responses.

David L. Miller, DO, FACOI is a retired internal medicine physician with over 25 years of experience. He
currently serves as the lead medical instructor for the Civilian Crisis Response Team out of Indianapolis.
He has taught civilians, military and law enforcement for the past six years with that organization.
Classes range from basic medical to advanced medical and tactical medicine. Dr. Miller also writes for
OFFGRID Magazine in a recurring health column for the past three years.
